If the Bengals get the right offer, they could elect to trade back and acquire more draft picks to build the roster with.

The Bengals aren’t the only team looking for a quarterback early in the 2020 Draft. The Dolphins, Jaguars, Chargers, Panthers, and Raiders are all teams that could be looking for new QBs next year. Could one of them be so enamored with Joe Burrow that they give up a ton of picks to move up and get him? It’s happened before and will happen again. If they move back, there are some guys they could be targeting with a slightly lower pick.

Justin Herbert

The Oregon quarterback has been inconsistent, but has the tools that will excite NFL teams anyway. He can make every possible throw effortlessly, and could have been a top QB if he had declared last year. The Bengals took a big, strong west coast quarterback once before and it worked out. If he can solve the consistency issues, he could be the best QB to come out of this draft.

Andrew Thomas

The offensive line has been bad in Cincinnati for some time. There are plenty of Bengals fans who are clamoring for them to build the line first before drafting a quarterback. If they trade back, that’s an option. Thomas is a terrific run blocker, and has the feet necessary to be a really good pass blocker as well. If they like some of the second tier of quarterbacks likely available in round two, this makes some sense.

CeeDee Lamb

There is some uncertainty with the future of the Bengals wide receiver unit. AJ Green is a pending free agent and there isn’t progress so far on an extension. He’s also been hurt a lot lately. John Ross hasn’t taken the next step yet. Tyler Boyd is terrific, but more of a slot guy. Lamb is terrific in every aspect of the game. He has a great combination of speed, strength, and size. Jerry Jeudy, a speedier receiver who runs precision routes is also very good.

Isaiah Simmons

Like the offensive line, the linebacking unit has been a disaster for the Bengals for a while. Fans have begged for them to address it in recent drafts, but they have only targeted mid-round players. Simmons is a tremendous athlete who fits what the modern NFL needs from the position. He flies all over the field making tackles and has the skillset to be solid in coverage as well. He could be a huge addition to the defense.
