This pick should be locked in for the Cincinnati Bengals as Louisiana State quarterback Joe Burrow has emerged as the best quarterback in this year’s draft class. The Heisman Trophy winner, Burrow looks to be the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, as the quarterback position is by far the most important position in professional sports; he may not be the best overall prospect, but he heads back to his home state of Ohio to lead the Bengals out of misery.
Because of the pass-heavy nature of the league and the over-emphasis of the quarterback, Washington is in the perfect position to land the best player in this year’s draft class in Ohio State’s Chase Young. A complete game-wrecker with traits that will obviously translate to the next level, Washington takes their second Buckeye in the first round in as many years; they get their quarterback last year in Dwayne Haskins, and a franchise changing player this year in Young.
While Young is the best player in the draft, Derrick Brown currently sits as the second best player in this year’s draft class after wreaking havoc on SEC opponents in 2019 for the Auburn Tigers. Standing at a tall 6-5 and nearly 320 pounds, Brown has a fantastic combination of pass rush moves, anchor strength, and burst off the snap. The Detroit Lions add their best defensive lineman since they selected Ndamukong Suh back in 2010.
