2020 NFL Draft: Receivers dominate end-of-season mock draft
Say what you will, New York Giants GM Dave Gettleman has played a masterful a game of poker. He’s lost a few hands, sure, (looking at you Pat Shurmur) but he nailed the first round of last year’s draft and will now look to reap the benefit of another top-10 selection in 2020.
Jerry Jeudy is a superstar wideout who will rectify the departure of Odell Beckham Jr. once and for all. Grouped with Daniel Jones, Saquan Barkley and a healthy Evan Engram, the Giants will have acquired a humble squad of offensive playmakers to lead the team into the future. Just as well, the Giants receiving corp instantly becomes a favorite in the league with fellow weapons Golden Tate and Sterling Shephard.
New York Giants fans have booed the past two top-10 picks, but surely their cheers will be heard all the way in Las Vegas in April wit this selection.
The final decision for Tua Tagovailoa has yet to be made. While rumors swirl in Tuscaloosa that the legendary Alabama quarterback will return for one more run at a healthy, award-winning championship season under Nick Saban, his name should not be ignored in any mock draft until it’s official.
Tagovailoa, for all of his injury concerns, is a generational talent who would have an entertaining battle with Burrow for the top selection in a perfect world. Circumstances have robbed reality from that scenario, but not a top-5 selection.
With Ryan Fitzpatrick available for next season, the Dolphins keep a stop-gap solution to allow Tagovailoa the opportunity to get healthy and become a studious player to accompany his skill on the field. With the number of picks and cap space the Dolphins possess, the front office can begin to build a squad around its uber-talented quarterback of the future.
