After a much improved senior season at Oklahoma, quarterback Jalen Hurts will prepare for the 2020 NFL Draft by taking a trip to the Senior Bowl.

Jalen Hurts, the athletically gifted quarterback from Oklahoma by the way of Alabama will be in attendance at the Senior Bowl later this month. He joins other quarterbacks such as Jordan Love, Shea Patterson, and Anthony Gordon in Mobile. The Senior Bowl provides just the right environment for Hurts to showcase his wares before the 2020 NFL Draft.

Hurts will join Oklahoma teammate Neville Gallimore for the festivities along with former teammates Jared Mayden, Anfernee Jennings, Raekwon Davis, and Terrell Lewis. He needed to be there in Mobile to showcase his talents after a subdued effort to finish out the season against both Baylor and LSU in 2019 that has scouts wondering where his ceiling is as a passer.

We all know his talents as a runner but the passing game needed development and he has had moments of inconsistency in that regard. The speculation is that his head coach Lincoln Riley could join him in Mobile as an NFL head coach, namely the Dallas Cowboys.

Here’s the scouting report on Hurts:

"Hurts is an interesting prospect that has played himself into at least a first round pick after a somewhat middling career at Alabama fundamentally speaking. At Oklahoma, he’s shown good development of progression that he showed flashes of while with the Crimson Tide. He’s a good athlete with a good enough arm to make the big league throws. He’s had some turnover issues as some were inexplicable ones with him just dropping the ball. Character and work ethic are huge pluses in his game. Hurts has reverted to the same Hurts we saw at Alabama to close out the season, which is to say that he’s shown some regression within the confines of the pocket (via WTFP)"

Hopefully Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert will be able to join Hurts in Mobile, making it a star studded affair at the quarterback position. While neither Herbert nor Burrow necessarily need to boost their stock much higher, Hurts absolutely does.
