3. Cam Fleming, OT

This is one that needs to have some action from the player’s current team, but could still be possible. Right now, Cameron Fleming is scheduled to be on the Dallas Cowboys in 2020, but there’s a good chance that could change. Dallas signed Fleming to a two-year contract ahead of the 2019 season but the second year was a team option.

Should Dallas exercise that option, the veteran offensive tackle would be making $5.25 million — according to OverTheCap.com. That might not sound like a whole lot for a tackle, except when you realize Fleming is a reserve.

Not only that, but he’s a reserve offensive lineman on a team already dedicating $15 million to Zack Martin, $13.5 million to Tyron Smith, $11.9 million to Travis Frederick, and $8.95 million to La’el Collins.

That’s an awful lot of money being committed to the offensive line and with so many players in need of new contracts, Dallas could decide to cut bait with Fleming and save more than $4 million. Should that happen, New York makes a lot of sense as a landing spot as he has connections to Joe Judge and his new offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.

While with New England, Fleming played on special teams with Judge. He then left for Dallas in 2018 and was there with Garrett who was the Cowboys head coach until his contract ran out.

New York has had their share of issues on the offensive line and they have discussed potentially moving Nate Solder. Having a guy such as Fleming who can play either tackle spot would help them tremendously. He won’t exactly be a Pro Bowler, but he knows Garrett’s offense and has been a decent starter when called upon.
