2020 NFL Draft: Texans make due with limited resources in mock draft

Isaiah Wilson OT
Last year, the Texans added both Tunsil via trade, and rookie Tytus Howard in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Houston then went on to add Max Scharping later in the draft, who would go on to be a starter along the Texans’ offensive front. However, if the Texans want to capitalize on the talent of Deshaun Watson, they should look to add one more solid piece to keep their franchise quarterback upright.

One of the most slept on prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft is the other University of Georgia offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson. With Howard and Scharping getting starting reps at guard in 2019, the Texans could add a stallwart to start opposite Laremy Tunsil for the foreseeable future.
Amongst the strongest tackles in this year’s draft class, Wilson plays with a mean attitude and with an anchor that is as firm as a brick wall. While he may take a bit of adjusting to the next level, given that he is only a redshirt sophomore, Wilson’s ceiling at the next level is sky high.
By adding Wilson here in the second round and with their first pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Texans give themselves four young starters along their offensive line to build around, adding him in with Tunsil, Howard, and Scharping.
