S Jeremy Chinn, Southern Illinois

For starters, Southern Illinois University safety Jeremy Chinn is a large human being for a defensive back. At the Senior Bowl last month, Chinn measured in at over 6-3, 219 pounds, and with a 77 inch wingspan and 32 inch arms. For perspective, this is bigger than some linebackers measured in at in Mobile.

While Chinn did not dominate the competition at the Senior Bowl, what he did do was show that he belonged with the likes of power five competitors while there. What will give Chinn the advantage over some of those power five guys will be the athletic ability that he pairs with his stature; he will get to chance to flash that at the NFL Scouting Combine later this month.

During his career with the Southern Illinois Salukis, Chinn racked up 181 solo tackles, five tackles for loss, a sack, and a whopping 13 interceptions; he also tallied 31 passes defended and six forced fumbles on the SIU defense. This year, Chinn continued his extraordinary production, compiling a statline of 48 solo tackles, two of which came behind the line of scrimmage, his only career sack, four interceptions, and seven passes defended.

Jeremy Chinn did not leave Mobile with the most hype from the safety group as Dugger, who we will get to later, absolutely stunned. However, Jeremy Chinn still finds himself in position to hear his name called in the later portion of day-two of the 2020 NFL Draft, and early day-three at the latest should he test as expected.
