One of the more curious cases last season was Houston quarterback redshirting four years into the year, vowing to return to the Cougars in 2020, then deciding to transfer this offseason to the University of Miami. Houston head coach Dana Holgerson had started his son at quarterback over the back half of the season, and one has to wonder how much this impacted King’s decision to leave the university.

The University of Miami, while they have not produced a big time quarterback in the NFL in quite some time, could see those fortunes change in 2020. Not only is King a uniquely talented quarterback with both his arm and his legs, but the Hurricanes added Rhett Lashlee from SMU as their new offensive coordinator, one known for his expertise and prowess running the spread offense.

Miami has had success recruiting skill players over the past few seasons, so King will have a world of talent around him in Miami next season. While King struggled in 2019 for the Cougars, his 2018 tape is tantalizing enough to keep this writer interested in his 2021 NFL Draft stock and in what he will be able to accomplish with the Hurricanes this season.
