Washington quarterback Jacob Eason reportedly hasn’t been doing well in interviews at the Scouting Combine as he prepares for the 2020 NFL Draft
Here we have it, one of the more polarizing quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft class. Back in 2016, the Georgia Bulldogs felt as though they had hit the lottery with quarterback Jacob Eason. A true freshman, Eason showed off a fantastic arm and was able to throw for 2,430 yards with 16 touchdowns and eight picks.
That led to some high expectations for the young man as he entered his sophomore season in 2017 but things fell apart for him. After a knee injury sidelined him, Eason lost his job to Jake Fromm and ended up having to transfer.
Eason then played well for the Washington Huskies and now he and Fromm are both heading into the 2020 NFL Draft. Each expects to be drafted rather early and all eyes are on them during the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.

For Eason, he hasn’t looked bad on the field, but that’s apparently not carrying over to the interviews according to Todd McShay. The NFL Insider seems to believe that Eason is not only doing poorly in his meetings but, even worse, he seems to be somewhat oblivious to this.
"“He was too comfortable. He thought that he owned the room. He doesn’t understand the magnitude of all this.” — McShay said in reference to Eason via Lary Brown Sports"
Heading into the Combine, Eason did have some questions to answer. While he has all the talent in the world, there have been questions about his leadership. That concern had a lot to do with why Fromm was able to displace him in Athens.
Np position faces more scrutiny than quarterback and simply being unaware of how things are going in an interview could be enough for teams to decide someone shouldn’t be the face of their franchise.
