3 Free agents who could largely change Cowboys 2020 NFL Draft plans

3. Damon Harrison, Defensive Tackle, Detroit Lions
The Cowboys defensive line was really good in 2019. According to NFL.com, they were 11th overall in stopping the run, giving up just 103.5 yards per game on the ground. They were also a large part of the success the team had in the passing game.

While they weren’t dropping into coverage, the Cowboys edge rushers were bringing the heat. DeMarcus Lawrence didn’t have his typical stat-line with sacks but he generated more than enough pressure and the attention he commanded helped Robert Quinn record 11.5 sacks.
As good as they were, there’s room for improvement. And the spot needing the most attention is at defensive tackle where the Cowboys haven’t been able to find a consistent starter at their one-technique spot. This could lead to the selection of Damon Harrison, who is one of the best in the game at that spot.
Harrison is on the older side at 31, but was still a great run-stuffer for the Detroit Lions last season. His ability to eat up blocks and destroy the ground game makes him a player to watch in free agency as Dallas would be wise to bring him in.
