Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Vanderbilt

While Evans has seen his draft stock take a turn for the better throughout the 2019 campaign, Vanderbilt running back Ke’shawn Vaughn. While his stock has tanked since the love he was getting preseason, Vaughn remains a solid, well rounded back in the 2020 NFL Draft, and one that could fill the shoes left by Todd Gurley in Los Angeles.

Transferring to Vanderbilt after two years at the University of Illinois, Vaughn has experienced a rollercoaster of a collegiate career. As a true freshman, Vaughn rushed for almost 1,000 yards for the Fighting Illini, but then saw his usage dip in year two. This caused him to transfer to Nashville, where his up and down career continued.

In 2018, the now Commodore running back rushed for nearly 1,300 yards, averaging nearly eight yards per carry, and getting into the endzone a total of 14 times. This year, his yards per carry averaged dropped by two yards as he ran for just over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

One area where Vaughn showed improvement, however, in 2019 was with his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. As a receiver this year, Vaughn caught 28 passes for an additional 270 yards and one touchdown for the Commodores in 2019. If the Rams want a more well-rounded prospect on the third day of the draft, Vaughn is a solid option.
