Pick Analysis. DE. player. 53. Scouting Report. Jadeveon Clowney. 90.

Turning to the defensive side of the ball, the 2014 first overall pick in Jadeveon Clowney is still walking the streets after one solid season with the Seattle Seahawks. He and Everson Griffen still find themselves team-less, and it seems like the market is pricing out too many team’s interest in these elite pass rushers on the open market.

Clowney is still going to take top dollar to get, so teams like the Chiefs and Saints with limited cap space are out of the question. The Indianapolis Colts would have been a solid landing spot for Clowney, but after the trade and extension of DeForest Buckner, they may be unwilling to invest any more money into their already deep defensive front.

Two teams stick out as the best remaining landing spots for Clowney’s services: the Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns already have one of (if not the best) young pass rusher in the game in another first overall pick in Myles Garrett on one end. Book-ending Garrett and Clowney, even if it were just for one year, would give the Browns a formidable pass rush. They already have Olivier Vernon on the roster, but he has been injury plagued over the past few years and is due no guaranteed money beyond this year; the Browns could move on from Vernon and land Clowney if they wanted.

The Titans, on the other hand, came one game from the Super Bowl and have retained the majority of their pieces from last year’s magical team. One loss was veteran Pro Bowler Cameron Wake, so the Titans could look to sign Clowney on a short term deal to fill that void.
