51. Pick Analysis. LB. 84th overall. 3. Scouting Report. Akeem Davis-Gaither. player

Heading into the third round, the Rams stick with the defensive side of the ball and turn to the linebacker position. In free agency, the Rams saw starting linebacker Cory Littleton take a massive deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, leaving a large void at the second level of their defense.

With the 84th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Rams look to add athleticism to the linebacking position by selecting Appalachian State’s Akeem Davis-Gaither. A bit undersized, but Davis-Gaither is special talent with a ceiling that is through the roof; he heads to Los Angeles here in the third round.

CB. Amik Robertson. 3. player. 2119. Pick Analysis. 104th overall. Scouting Report

Another piece the Rams lost this offseason was Nickell Robey-Coleman, one of the best nickel cornerbacks in the NFL. Here with their second pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Rams add the scrappy Louisiana Tech cornerback Amik Robertson.

Stuck playing outside the numbers at Louisiana Tech due to lack of talent, Robertson is positioned to thrive in the nickel, as he does not back down from anyone. He has tape bullying the likes of massive receiver Collin Johnson, and has some of the best ball skills in the entire draft class. Using Robertson as their starting nickel minimizes the loss of Robey-Coleman in Los Angeles.
