Last weekend, the staff at With The First Pick conducted a three-round mock 2020 NFL Draft, which produced results that would make Philadelphia Eagles fans extremely happy.
Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, the Eagles have several needs on both sides of the ball.
The staff mock saw them land two potential starters on defense and a wide receiver who has flown under the radar in a stacked class.
Here we examine the selections made for the Eagles and how those prospects could help Philadelphia build on last year’s 9-7 season.

After trading for Darius Slay, the Eagles shouldn’t be quite as desperate for an impact starter at cornerback. Receiver is an obvious possibility here, but the Eagles also have a need at linebacker.
Enter Queen. The debate over whether it is he or Kenneth Murray who deserves the tag of top linebacker in the class has persisted throughout the draft season, but Queen’s performances down the stretch for LSU gave the Eagles a glimpse of the immediate difference-maker he can be at the next level.
Queen flashed elite coverage ability during his time with the Tigers. He looked at ease covering running backs and tight ends and was similarly assured when tasked with guarding receivers.
The sideline to sideline speed that is a prominent feature of his play in pursuit helped him excel in man coverage, while his awareness and ability to change assignments on the fly assured he was just as comfortable playing zone.
Those instincts should enable Queen to emerge as an immediate leader on defense in the pros. For an Eagles unit that was mediocre defending the pass in 2019, Queen’s talents in covering underneath make him just as valuable as any of the corner prospects that would likely be on the board at this spot.
