3 Bold Browns predictions with 2020 NFL Draft approaching
By Cory Kinnan
Wide receiver will be targeted sooner than one may expect
It’s true, the Browns already have Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry on their roster, and Stefanski runs two tight end formations near the top in the league. However, even though Stefanski runs double tight end formations an exorbitant 40 percent, that still leaves 60 percent of the offensive sets where more than two receivers are needed.

Outside of the LSU duo in Beckham and Landry, the only other wide receivers on the Browns’ roster are replaceable level players. Rashard Higgins has yet to be re-signed, and coming off of a year where he and the organization did not see eye-to-eye, it seems unlikely he would want to return to Cleveland.
Next on the depth chart would be 2018 sixth round pick Damien Ratley and Khadarel Hodge. The wide receiver position is a bigger hole on the roster than it may appear on paper. Not only will the third wide receiver see the field in over half of the offensive snaps this season, but if one of Landry or Beckham Jr. were to go down with an injury, the Browns would be forced to play a receiver with limited production, upside, and talent.
Look for the Browns to add a receiver earlier than most would anticipate, even as early as the 41st pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
