Today the Detroit Lions have announced that they are shopping their 3rd overall pick in this year’s draft. The player that we all think that the Lions will draft will be there at even 9th overall, Jeffrey Okudah Ohio State cornerback, they could be the best contender to trade with. The Jaguars will have to give up both of their first-round picks and a middle-round pick, like a third or a fourth, could seal the deal.
New York Giants
The New York Giants pick at fourth overall, right behind the Detroit Lions which could be a bit easier for them to trade for. The New York Giants are either going to draft the Clemson linebacker in Isaiah Simmons or one of those top four offensive tackles with their pick. If the Giants trade down in the draft, they could be out of the Simmons sweepstakes but still can get one of those four offensive tackles at ninth overall.
The Jaguars would have to give up both first-round picks and a fourth or a fifth-round pick to trade up fourth overall. Another trade that could possibly happen is the Giants and Jags have a pick swap, 4th overall goes to the Jacksonville Jaguars and ninth overall goes to the Giants and the Jaguars also give them Yannick Ngakoue and a late-round pick.
Washington Redskins
With the rumors coming out saying that the Redskins are eyeing in on Chase Young, that could be smoke or it could be true. We will have to wait and see on draft day, but if they are not the Washington Redskins could be a team that is wanting to trade down and accumulate draft picks for the future. The price that comes with trading all the way up to second overall is crazy.
I predict the Jacksonville Jaguars will have to give up both first-round picks, a third-round pick, a fifth-round pick, and a future second or third-round pick. It could be risky for the Jaguars but it could also be a home run if they do pick the right quarterback.
