The New Orleans Saints might not have Drew Brees for much longer, what should they do in the 2020 NFL Draft to help with their future?
The New Orleans Saints have some of the worst luck in the playoffs; usually the top team in the NFC South and usually always have somewhere near 10-14 wins for the last ten years, but can’t get it done in the post season. A strong 2020 NFL Draft class could change their fortunes as their time with Drew Brees is winding down.
If they blow it in the Wildcard round, Divisional round, or even in the NFC Championship game to get into the Super Bowl, they always blow it. This year, I really like the Saints coming out of the NFC South. Why you might ask me and I am glad you ask, New Orleans have not had a lot of competition in the division. Now having Tom Brady playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, this could make Drew Brees and the Saints play even better.
New Orleans brought back Brees on a two-year deal for $50 million, fully guaranteed. The Saints let quarterback Teddy Bridgewater walk in free agency, Bridgewater ended up signing with the Carolina Panthers, a division team. The Saints signed Emmanuel Sanders during free agency to give Brees another target that was not just Michael Thomas. The other big signing for the Saints was Malcolm Jenkins signing a four-year deal back to the former team that drafted him.
