The 49ers have two first-round picks but are likely trade down candidates in the 2020 NFL Draft, here is our seven-round mock for San Francisco.

The San Francisco 49ers are plotting another run at the Super Bowl after their agonizing defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs in February. Nailing the 2020 NFL Draft is the immediate priority for the Niners as they eye another championship push, and they have two picks in the first round.

However, no selections for San Francisco on day two or in round four makes them obvious candidates to trade down.

Here we try to project what the Niners will do in our seven-round mock.

Round 1, Pick 13 – Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama

There is a strong chance the 49ers could have their pick of the receivers at this spot if the run on offensive tackles that many expect comes to pass.

It is Ruggs whose name is most commonly connected with the 49ers by people with contacts in the NFL. San Francisco has held multiple conversations with Ruggs, having met with him at the Scouting Combine and held a pre-draft interview with the Crimson Tide speedster, according to Pro Football Talk.

His blazing 4.27 speed would add a new dimension to the 49ers’ passing attack, which was absent deep threat Marquise Goodwin – who is expected to be traded – for much of the 2019 season.

Between his ability to get open downfield, take even the shortest of passes to the house and pick up yards after the catch with his surprisingly physical running style, Ruggs is a receiver with whom head coach Kyle Shanahan can further terrify opposing defenses.

The triumvirate of Ruggs, Deebo Samuel and All-Pro tight end George Kittle would be one of the premier receiving triplets in the NFL, providing quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with an enticing supporting cast as he aims to build on a successful first full season as a starter.
