Baltimore Ravens – Geno Stone, S, Iowa

The Ravens capped off an excellent draft by bolstering their secondary with a prospect few expected to be available in the seventh round.

Stone demonstrates impressive awareness and a nose for the football, which came to the fore in a 2018 season that saw him record four interceptions for the Hawkeyes.

He was second-team All-Big Ten in 2019 but concerns over his 5’10” and 207-pound frame and his length will have been a factor in him lasting until the end of day three.

Just like Madubuike with Campbell on the defensive front, Stone will not lack for mentors on the back end, as he joins a secondary that features Earl Thomas, Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey.

Stone should fit in seamlessly with a group defined by their ability to make plays on the ball.

Given his draft status, he will be under absolutely no pressure to start as a rookie and is in the perfect environment to develop into an NFL starter.

The Ravens have enjoyed sustained success off the back of excellent drafting and allowing the board to come to them, as they did with Lamar Jackson in 2018. Stone does not have anywhere close to the same profile as Jackson but could quickly become a key contributor for a Baltimore team well-positioned to consistently challenge for titles.
