New York Giants

The New York Giants have made a legitimate commitment to the offensive line in the past three off-seasons, and should be commended for no longer ignoring it. However, before last weekend, they had some bad misses. Nate Solder signed a huge contract a few years ago, but has proved to be an average starting offensive tackle at best.

The Giants went out in this draft and added two offensive tackles in Andrew Thomas and Matt Peart that may end up being their future bookends. With Will Hernandez and Kevin Zeitler at guard, the Giants may have figured out this offensive line problem. The Giants can cut Solder after the 2020 season and take on very minimal dead money. If Peart pans out then the Giants can go into 2021 with Thomas and Peart at the tackle spots, with Zeitler and Hernandez at guard. That would just leave a hole at the center position.

Enter Justin Britt, a smart and experienced center who brings a great level of physicality in the middle. The Giants have decided to build an offense around their running back, Saquan Barkley, and have a young quarterback in place with Daniel Jones, who they are trying to get a proper evaluation of. Having a strong interior presence who is a veteran would help with both of those missions. Britt would come inexpensive and could sign a short two to three year deal.
