The transfers
Transfer quarterbacks have taken over the landscape of college football, as Joe Burrow and Justin Fields have found success at their new schools. After three seasons at Wake Forest, Newman is set to move into the SEC and team up with Kirby Smart and Todd Monken with the Georgia Bulldogs. Pairing his arm with the air raid guru in Monken could cause Newman to see a huge rise in success in 2020 in Athens, Georgia.
After multiple injuries at Stanford, K.J. Costello finally had his role usurped by David Mills. He has since transferred to Mississippi State, where he will look to ride the success of Mike Leach, who has produced Gardner Minshew and Anthony Gordon over the last two seasons, to success in the 2020 season.
A name who had some steam a year ago, D’Eriq King, decided to redshirt four games into the 2019 season in order to preserve his final year of eligibility. He now looks to take his game to a new level, operating the Hurricanes’ spread offense down in South Beach. A dynamic athlete, the only thing holding King back may be his size.
Anthony Brown was off to a good start for Boston College before suffering a season ending injury. The Eagles have since turned to a younger signal caller in Dennis Grosel, and Brown has taken his talents to the west coast to replace Justin Herbert in Eugene, Oregon. With new offensive coordinator in Joe Moorhead, Brown could finally have an offensive system to take advantage of the tools he possesses.
