FOOTWORK/PASS SET (17/20):

Given the heavy run-pass option nature of Texas’ offense and the mobility of Sam Ehlinger, Samuel Cosmi is most prevalently firing into a jump set in order to get his hands on an opponent as quickly as possible in pass protection. As far as a vertical or 45 degree set is concerned, his base could be a bit wider as his feet creep too closely together in more of a shuffle.

An area of improvement would be a wider, square base in his 45 and vertical set when asked to drop back in pass protection. This becomes an issue when dealing with speed off the edge, as he gets beat to his spot due to the lack of a consistent kick step.

MOBILITY (8.5/10):

While Cosmi is a bit slow out of his stance and into his set if asked to drop into a vertical or 45 set, he gets lateral down the line smoothly when asked to pull. He gets to the second level in the run game with efficiency, having no issue tracking down and covering linebackers and safeties.

In the run game he frames off rush lanes well, giving the Texas ball carrier a clear path to run through.
