New England Patriots

There is no team that gets mentioned more in relation to Josh Rosen than the New England Patriots. Since it was evident that Arizona was done with him, the Patriots are always at the forefront of those conversations. With future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady in Tampa Bay now, those discussions are back. The possibilities for Rosen to go to New England were to sit behind Brady, but with him gone, he could have the opportunity to start now.

More from Detroit Lions

As of right now, it appears that New England is content with starting Jarett Stidham in 2020 with Brian Hoyer backing him up. If the Patriots do send a day three pick to Miami for Rosen, he could compete with Stidham for the starting job. Would he win that competition? The possibility is unlikely based on what he has shown throughout these two years.

Since Brady signed with Tampa Bay, the media has attached every quarterback possible to them. Many have failed to realize that Bill Belichick is content with going forward with Stidham. However, with Rosen’s play making his trade value lower than it was last season, perhaps Belichick takes a chance on a quarterback who has a similar body type to the one he has had for the last two decades.
