What is quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s role with Miami Dolphins?
What does Tua bring beyond 2020?
Dwyane Wade. No, that isn’t hyperbole. The Miami Dolphins have not had a player with this much starpower since Dan Marino. Unfortunately, Dan Marino ever won a Super Bowl. Tua has all the potential, all the talent, all the starpower, to be what Dwyane Wade was for the Miami Heat. Yes, that includes the three championships.
Tagovailoa has what it takes to be that face of the city that Wade was. The locals refer to this area as “Wade County” as opposed to Dade County. There is a reason why the top two selling items in the NFL were Tua Tagovailoa jerseys for weeks. Why didn’t Joe Burrow have that type of memorabilia impact? Because Tua’s a different animal.
For the first time in years, the national media cares about the Miami Dolphins. Not because of the improved roster, not because of Brian Flores, hell, even playing in “South Beach” couldn’t make the media care about the Dolphins. It is all about Tua. He is a superstar of the highest order, and his presence alone has people caring about the Dolphins.
All of the media attention and jersey sales are great, but on the field is where the treat is with Tua. Had he not been injured, he would have been the number one pick by a landslide. Burrow was great in 2019, but Tua Tagovailoa has that “It” factor that evaluators speak of. He is an absolute lightning rod for this franchise because he’s an excellent quarterback. His accuracy, his mobility, his touch, and his leadership are the ingredients needed to be a star in this league. The Dolphins are coming, and it’s because of this young man.
