There should be a long line for 2021 NFL Draft sleeper Tony Poljan.

Tight end Tony Poljan surprisingly announced that he’ll be entering his name into the transfer portal going into his fifth year senior season as each of his biggest opportunities to impress pro scouts (games at Nebraska and Northwestern) for his upcoming year were cancelled and with his 2021 NFL Draft stock hanging in the balance.

The 6-foot-7 inch mammoth of a tight end is a converted quarterback who spot-started for two years for the Chippewas before making the transition full time to tight end this past season.

He was a second team all-MAC selection as he finished with 496 yards and four touchdowns on 33 catches. He is from Lansing, Michigan where he was a highly touted prospect out of high school. He garnered several FBS offers including Power Five offers from Minnesota, Nebraska, and Michigan State. The problem is all of them saw him as a tight end while Poljan wanted to play quarterback, which is why he ended up at Central Michigan.

The 2021 tight class is a very rich one with the likes of Pat Friermuth, Kyle PittsHunter Long, among others. Poljan is on the radar as a mid to late round pick at the moment as SI has him their fifth rated tight end going into 2020.

Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline thinks, however, Poljan has some work to do at the tight end position. This is a natural reaction to a player with only one year of experience under his belt:

"“Based on his dimensions, tight end Tony Poljan looks like a power forward on the football field. He’s a long athlete and offers his quarterback an imposing target. Despite his imposing physical dimensions, Poljan looks more like a size prospect at this time rather than a real good football player (Pauline via PFN).”"

If Poljan can replicate or outdo his production at Central Michigan on a Power Five team for this upcoming season, expect his draft stock to absolutely soar as teams will fall in love with his size and potential.
