Monday Morning Sleepers: 4 2021 NFL Draft sleepers with potential to soar in 2020
By Cory Kinnan
Tommy Doyle, Offensive Tackle, Miami (OH)
Moving to the offensive side of the football and to the Mid-American Conference, next up is Miami of Ohio’s stud offensive tackle Tommy Doyle. Not only is Doyle a sleeper, but he has the potential to join the likes of Eric Fisher and Joe Staley as first round offensive tackles to come out of the MAC.
Doyle is listed at a massive 6-8 and 318 pounds, and he plays every bit as strong as he is listed. A year ago he took on 2020 second round pick A.J. Epenesa when the RedHawks traveled to Iowa, and not only did Doyle hold his own, but he physically dominated the man across from him at times.
Currently listed as this writer’s third overall tackle in this class behind only Oregon’s Penei Sewell and Texas’ Samuel Cosmi, Doyle is an excellent offensive lineman prospect coming out of Oxford, Ohio. The biggest deterrent to Doyle’s game is the level of competition he is playing against, so hopefully, he gets a chance to travel to Mobile for the Senior Bowl to take on power five players in one-on-one drills.
Regardless, it is time to open up the eyes in the draft community to Doyle as he enters his last year at Miami as one of the many 2021 NFL Draft sleepers.
