49ers: Fantasy value of rookie WR Brandon Aiyuk continues to skyrocket
By Cory Kinnan
Brandon Aiyuk will get his looks early and often with the 49ers
NFL training camps are well underway, and 2020 NFL Draft rookies are beginning to get in the swing of things. One of those rookies is first round pick of the San Francisco 49ers and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who has progressively gained a bigger role in the offense as the offseason has gone on.
First, it was Deebo Samuel who went down with an injury, opening up a bigger role for Aiyuk immediately. While Samuel may be back Week 1, Aiyuk is still getting an increase in valuable reps in practice, building a rapport with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Unfortunately for the 49ers, their wide receiver room continues to take hit after hit. On top of Samuel’s status being in limbo for the first week of the season, they have lost 2019 third rounder Jalen Hurd for the second straight season. After missing most of the season a year ago with a back injury, he has now suffered a torn ACL.
The depth of wide receivers on the roster of the 49ers is getting slimmer by the day, so much so that they have had to bring in two veteran receivers in Tavon Austin and J.J. Nelson. They even brought in a third veteran in Jaron Brown even after signing the other two just to fill in for their lack of depth.
Look for the 49ers to turn to their first rounder in Aiyuk early and often in 2020. A dynamic playmaker and the circumstances around him will make Aiyuk an early asset in fantasy football as a rookie. In dynasty leagues, make sure to adjust your rankings accordingly.
