By Cory Kinnan
Where Jevon Holland Wins
When watching Oregon’s tape from 2019, one has to be careful to track down where Holland is lined up for the Ducks. What stands out first and foremost for Holland is his versatility and usage as he can stack the box, play in the nickel, or play at the third level of the defense in a traditional safety look.

Holland is a savvy athlete on the field, showing a great understanding and awareness of his responsibilities and fits against the run. While he has some slight and rare mix-ups, Holland shows the ability to set the edge with force and to remain disciplined in contain and in his gaps when tasked with stacking the box.
When matching up with tight ends, Holland does not get frightened and matches the level of physicality of the man across for him. He jams well off the line of scrimmage and continues to hand fight down the field in order to give no window for the quarterback to hit in the seam. He shows the same strengths when knocking receivers off of their paths when in zone coverage as well.
Despite these positives on Holland’s tape, he still remains a difficult prospect to evaluate as the 2021 NFL Draft looms. Next, we take a look at what makes him such a hard player to grade and project to the next level.
