Packers: Pump the brakes on the Jordan Love hate
There have been reports of early struggles from first round pick Jordan Love. However, the proportions to which the Green Bay Packers should be worrying seems to be quite overblown.
However, that didn’t stop fans from freaking out a little. Let’s take a brief travel through time and re-visit the year 2005, shall we?
Now, I’m going to be transparent with you, the author of this article (Matt Schneidman) did come out and say this:
The Packers are repeating history with Jordan Love
A man named Brett Favre was the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback. He had recently turned 36 and had just came off of a playoff season while throwing for 30 touchdowns. In April, the Packers spent their first round draft pick on a talented quarterback who fell to them at the 24th selection. That draft pick was Aaron Rodgers.

I was young when Rodgers was drafted, but I clearly remember the pressure on him and the constant headlines. Aaron’s early career performance wasn’t exactly what you would consider “impressive”. However, he was still green, didn’t have many (if any) opportunities, and had the whole world watching him.
Fast forward to the year 2020 (you know, the year we’d all love to forget?)
A man named Aaron Rodgers is the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback. He recently turned 36 and just came off of a playoff season while throwing 26 touchdowns. In April, the Packers spent their first round draft pick on a talented quarterback who fell to the 26th selection, where Green Bay traded up to.
That draft pick was Jordan Love.
See my point? Jordan Love hasn’t even been practicing in the NFL for a full month, and yet people are assuming the worst – even after we watched this exact situation transpire 15 years ago. Look, I’m not saying Jordan Love will be as good as Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre, but let’s learn from our past mistakes and at least give this kid a chance.
