From LSU Football to the 2021 NFL Draft, Tyler Shelvin is off to the next level
With the ongoing health crisis, this 2020 college football season is bound to look worlds different than any season ever before. As players continue to opt out, scouting reports are getting done much earlier this year than the last; up next is one of the newer players to opt out and declare for the 2021 NFL Draft in LSU defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin.
After just two seasons under his belt at the collegiate level, Shelvin is now on to the NFL, along with a handful of other defensive prospects as LSU has seen a bit of an exodus on that side of the football. At 6-foot-3 and 346 pounds, Shelvin is known for plugging holes and clearing lanes more than padding his numbers.
In just 17 career games with the Tigers, Shelvin racked up 15 solo tackles, four and a half tackles behind the line of scrimmage and a sack and a half. A year ago, playing in 13 games in the Bayou, Shelvin tallied three tackles for loss and 13 solo tackles.
After a National Championship, Shelvin has decided to go out on a high note after a ton of turnover on the roster, including his defensive coordinator after Bo Pelini took over. Here is a scouting report on the big man in the middle of the LSU defensive line.
