Good news Ohio State Football fans: Wyatt Davis is back
By Cory Kinnan
Wyatt Davis is on his way back to the Ohio State Football program
Right guard and 2021 NFL Draft prospect Wyatt Davis opted out last week as he was looking to work towards the NFL Scouting Combine. However, after the Big Ten’s pivot and reset towards an October start date, the Ohio State Football program gets on of their best players and captains back as Davis has opted back in.
A potential top prospect in this year’s draft class, Davis enters the now late season as a likely first round pick. Another top projected pick in Buckeyes’ quarterback Justin Fields must be rejoicing as he gets a foundational piece to his protection back.
Davis is a mean finisher who looks to burry the man across from him at every opportunity he can find. He proves to have disciplined hands in his pass set, a strong initial punch, and even the ability to get lateral down the line of scrimmage as well. He will not be scheme-dependent at the next level, and will be a day-one starter in the NFL as he vies to be a top pick in the draft.

What Wyatt Davis brings back to Ohio State Football
The Buckeyes already lost one offensive lineman to the 2020 NFL Draft as Jonah Jackson, starting for the Detroit Lions, landed in the third round of the event. Losing both of their guards from a year ago would have been a big hit to the returning Big Ten champs and favorites to repeat.
Now returning Davis, along with their center Josh Myers makes for a dynamic duo along the interior for the Buckeyes. They also are returning a potential day-two pick in the form of left tackle Thayer Munford. As Justin Fields hopes to repeat as a Heisman Trophy finalist and solidify himself as a top quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Look out Big Ten defensive lineman! The best interior offensive lineman in the conference is back as he is ready to re-join the Ohio State Football program. He is already rock solid after just one real season of tape with the Buckeyes, and will look to add to that portfolio in 2020 now that the Big Ten is back in action.
