LB Riley Cole, South Alabama

Named to the Reese’s Senior Bowl Top 250 watchlist, South Alabama Riley Cole will look to prove he belongs in the all-star affair. Should he make the final Senior Bowl roster, the Jaguar will not have far to travel as Mobile boasts as the home for not only this event, but also home of the University of South Alabama.

Coming off of a season where he was named as an Honorable Mention to the All-Sun Belt teams, Cole racked up a stat-line of 37 solo tackles, nine tackles behind the line of scrimmage, three sacks, and one forced fumble for the Jaguars. He shows the versatility to play at the second level of the defense, but flashes as an edge rusher as well, making him a candidate to play as a versatile SAM linebacker at the next level.

However, in a deep linebacker class, Cole will have to prove that he belongs. With names like Nick Bolton of Missouri, Alabama’s Dylan Moses, and Penn State’s Micah Parsons at the top, this class has a ton of depth to it as well in the mid rounds. At this point there is no other projection for Cole other than a late round flyer as he pushes through his fifth year at the collegiate level.
