Where Oweh has room for improvement

Despite Oweh’s size, length, and athleticism, he does not quite know how to use it well as he rarely utilizes his full extension when holding the point of attack. As he works towards the 2020 season, Oweh needs to significantly refine his technique off the edge as it currently seems as though his only move is speed and has no plan of attack.

When he comes off the edge, if he is initially stalled, Oweh lacks a counter attack in order to continue his pursuit on the quarterback. One immediate area Oweh can at least make a conscious effort to improve is his pad level out of his stance, as he tends to immediately give up leverage at the snap of the ball.

The Penn State edge rusher faces a steep mental hurdle as he enters 2020 as the lead dog off the edge for the Nittany Lions. He often gets caught taking bad angles, is slow to read and react to what is happening in front of him as his eyes are late to the action, and he struggles to initiate contact at the point of attack.

With this information gathered, what is Oweh’s outlook with the 2021 NFL Draft soon in his future?
