Kedon Slovis and Jayden Daniels have got next
We are still over 150 days from the 2021 NFL Draft, but after a matchup between the USC Trojans and the Arizona State Sun Devils, there is no resisting the urge to look ahead to 2022. In this weekend’s thriller, a game where USC came from behind, there is no denying the talent of both quarterbacks Kedon Slovis and Jayden Daniels.
Both, just True Sophomores, have plenty of football left to play before they make the jump to the next level, but their talent cannot be turned from. This year we get to watch the wonders of the likes of Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State’s Justin Fields, but we get another fun class in the 2022 NFL Draft as well.

While USC got the win, coming back from 13 down with three minutes left, both quarterbacks put their arms on display. While Daniels started hot, he and the entire Sun Devils’ offense faded in the second half of the game; he finished 11-23 for 124 yards through the air and one touchdown. Additionally, Daniels put his athletic ability on display, running for 111 yards on 11 carries.
Opposite Daniels, however, Slovis had the opposite game. While the USC gunslinger started slow, he came on and had an absolutely stunning second half. On the day, Slovis churned out 381 yards passing and two touchdowns, throwing one interception as well; he completed nearly 73 percent of his passes against the Sun Devils.
A glimpse ahead to the 2022 NFL Draft
In addition to Slovis and Daniels, the projected top two quarterbacks in next year’s draft class, they are joined by North Carolina’s True Sophomore Sam Howell as well. These are the three headliners in the class as they are all young with other-worldly potential.
There are a few upper-classmen who could potentially join the conversation if they stay in school as well. These names include the likes of Ole Miss’ volatile but talented gunslinger Matt Corral, and Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder.
If you are a fan of an NFL team who will be out of the reach of Lawrence, Fields, or North Dakota State’s Trey Lance, then looking towards the 2022 NFL Draft and Slovis or Daniels to solve their problems. Keep an eye as these extremely young quarterbacks continue to develop in their second season as the faces of their programs.
