Round 2, Pick 49: Jayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn State

Outside of superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett, the Browns have no hope at getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks. They address that here in the second round as they land the tantalizing Penn State pass rusher in Jayson Oweh.

Only a Redshirt Sophomore, the athletic upside of Oweh and his age ring the analytical bell of general manager Andrew Berry and company as the 2021 NFL Draft rolls around. In his first season as a fulltime starter after Yetur Gross-Matos landed in the second round a year ago to the Tennessee Titans, Oweh has provided consistent pressure in opposing backfields.

Oweh’s biggest appeal, however, is what he will display when he heads to the NFL Scouting Combine. Should the Redshirt Sophomore declare for the 2021 NFL Draft, he is expected to be among the highest of ceilings in the entire class. Reportedly, Oweh can run a 4.33 40 yard dash, jump 37 inches in the vertical jump, power clean over 350 pounds, and squat over 550 pounds at 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds.

Should the NFL coaching get the most out of this other-worldly human being, then the Browns may possess the best pass rushing duo in Garrett and Oweh for the long haul.
