Round 4, Pick 118: Kuony Deng, LB, California

Perhaps the biggest issue on the roster for the Cleveland Browns can be found at the second level of their defense as they have the worst linebacking corps in the NFL. Their best linebacker by a significant margin this season has been journeyman Malcolm Smith, as second year linebackers Sione Takitaki and Mack Wilson have not taken a step forward in year two.

Jacob Phillips, a 2020 third round pick, has shown flashes when he is on the field, however he has battled injuries most of the season. How does a 6-foot-6 and 250 pound linebacker with a massive athletic ceiling sound? With the 118th overall pick in this mock draft, the Browns land the highly tantalizing California linebacker Kuony Deng.

Round 4, Pick 120: Levi Onwuzurike, DT, Washington

Larry Ogunjobi is playing out a contract year, has done nothing to prove he deserves an extension, and may be walking this offseason. The Browns are also forced with a financial decision to make as Sheldon Richardson has an out in his contract that the team may take given he is due $13 million next offseason. This leaves just Andrew Billings, who opted out this season, and third round rookie Jordan Elliott as the only defensive tackles potentially under contract after this season.

Continuing the trend of overhauling a defense with maybe three long term pieces on it, the Browns turn to the defensive line once again after landing Oweh in the second round of this mock draft. While Oweh plays off the edge, the Browns turn to the interior here, adding Washington defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike as they come back on the clock.

Drae Harris of The Draft Network is a big fan of Onwuzurike, stating in his scouting report:

"“Levi aligns as the 1 shade or the 0 tech in sub-packages. He is a very good athlete in his lateral agility and balance. He is a strong player with instances of explosive movements on the interior. In the passing game he is good. He affects the depth of the pocket with a bull rush and he puts a lot of pressure on centers after the snap due to his good get off, good hand placement and strength in his hands. Onwuzurkie is excellent against the run.”"
