Tutu Atwell has joined a very talented 2021 NFL Draft class

In the 2021 NFL Draft, the wide receiver class continues to grow with explosive and unique playmakers across the board from the college football level. Louisville’s speedy wide receiver Tutu Atwell joined the fray last Tuesday, announcing that he will forgo the remainder of Louisville’s 2020 season. While Atwell may be one of the slighter prospects in the cycle, he adds unparalleled explosion, short-area quickness, and all-purpose playmaking ability. He joins Terrace Marshall Jr., who also recently decided to forgo the rest of the college season.

Below, I will list some of Atwell’s bigger strengths and weaknesses while focusing on his potential destination to play on Sundays. His stature is small, but Atwell’s impact was big for the Cardinals, and he will add some intrigue to the 2021 NFL Draft. The workouts will be key for Atwell as he looks to rise from talented mid-rounder to a potential day two pick.

Another Northwestern star off to the NFL

More from With the First Pick

Chatarius “Tutu” Atwell was another talented prep prospect from the hotbed of talent in South Florida and Miami Northwestern high school. Northwestern has produced talented pro prospects in recent years like Teddy Bridgewater, Amari Cooper, and Lavonte David. He may not be the same type of pro talent as someone like Cooper, but Atwell is a very gifted prospect in his own right.

Atwell is a three-year starter who recorded 406 yards receiving and two touchdowns as a freshman in 2018. For an encore in 2019, Atwell broke the school record in receiving yards with 1,276. As a junior this season, Atwell has averaged over 13 yards per catch with 625 yards and seven touchdowns. He proved to be an extremely reliable college receiver that should make an solid pro at the next level.
