Falcons replace Matt Ryan with Justin Fields in 7-round mock draft
By Hunter Neel
Round 4, Pick 99 – Brady Christensen, OT, BYU
The team currently has Jake Matthews and Kaleb McGary entrenched as starters, but it remains unclear if McGary is the guy for the job. This move does not signal the end of McGary’s tenure with the team but does give the team options if they do want to move on either now or in the near future.
Drae Harris has some thoughts on the rising BYU offensive tackle:
"“In the run game, he’s more of a positional blocker than a mauler and he typically doesn’t generate much vertical movement. However, he has good strength in his hands to hold the point of attack. In the passing game, he demonstrates sufficient length on the edge and shows some fluidity in his pass sets. Christensen has sufficient lateral agility when redirecting inside and has instances where he speed rushers give him problems on the edge.”"

Christensen had a fantastic season for the Cougars this year as he was the highest graded tackle in the nation per PFF with a grade of 95.5. He was also a first team AP selection this season.
Round 5, Pick 132 – A’Darius Washington, S, TCU
The Falcons are a work in progress in the secondary. The play they have seen out of rookie AJ Terrell is exciting but the rest of the secondary has questions. Keanu Neal has played fine coming back from two straight years of injuries but it is unclear if the team will or even can resign him going forward. Next to Neal is Ricardo Allen, who is a fine player but his contract ends after next season.
Washington would be a good depth player who could take over in a year or two for the team. Washington is a very fluid player who is quick to ID passing concepts and break on them. He shows great ball skills and is very aggressive versus the run.
Round 6, Pick 163 – Patrick Johnson, EDGE, Tulane
As mentioned with the Ojulari pick edge is a big need for the Falcons. Because of this team team decides to double up on the position, adding depth to one of the most important positions on defense and an area the team is very very weak at.
Johnson had a great season this year, accumulating seven sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. He may not be a big impact player for the Falcons but he is just the type of edge depth you want to have on your team, especially for a team currently starting Donte Fowler and Steven Means as tier pass rushers.
