Azeez Ojulari solidifies himself with a dominant Peach Bowl
The Georgia Bulldogs covered a first half deficit to comeback and beat the Cincinnati Bearcats by a score of 24-21. The main reason for their resurgence in the last 30 minutes of the game was due to the dominant defensive performance by the Bulldogs. Among the most dominant was redshirt sophomore pass rusher Azeez Ojulari.
Finishing the game three sacks and a crucial forced fumble at a massive point late in the game. He and defensive tackle Jordan Davis dominated the trenches in the second half, rattling Bearcats’ quarterback Desmond Ridder and limiting their offense to table scraps. While he has yet to make a decision, Ojulari has solidified himself as a first round prospect and perhaps even more in the 2021 NFL Draft.

After his dominating performance, Ojulari has inserted himself into the competition for the top edge rusher in the class. He was not on many preseason watchlists, but now has left a massive impression into the minds of draftniks and NFL personnel alike. Just like that, Ojulari has staked his claim to be the first pass rusher off the board this April.
Jake Schyvinck of NFL Mocks sees the dominance of Ojulari as well:
"“Despite him not being a finished product, Ojulari has worked his way into the first-round discussion. A strong finish for the Bulldogs, plus a good week of testing at the combine, and Ojulari could end up being the top edge rusher on many draft boards. It’s possible he could hear his name much earlier than anyone could have anticipated back in the summer.”"
He has stiff competition with Michigan’s Kwity Paye and Texas’ Joseph Ossai also putting together a phenomenal 2020 season. However at this point it will likely come down to scheme and team preference as to who will be the first one off the board, but Ojulari sits as the top pass rusher in this class on this writer’s board.
