Is Deshaun Watson on his way out of Houston?

Free Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans. The turmoil continues as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Watson is extremely unhappy with the organization. We can all agree that this anger towards the organization probably started when ex-head coach Bill O’Brien traded away star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for next to nothing.

Even after losing a top three wide receiver, Watson went on to have the best year of his young career. He threw for 33 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and 4,823 passing yards. All while completing 70.2 percent of his passes. He set career-high marks in every category.

The organization allowed O’Brien to put the team in a bad situation before finally realizing it was time to move on. He’s a good coach but a bad general manager. Watson played at an elite level in 2020 but if the team doesn’t start to build around him on both sides of the ball, they will waste his career. Nobody wants to see his talent go to waste. He’s been a winning quarterback since high school and he honestly deserves better.

Now is not the best time to have an upset franchise quarterback. The Texans have hired Nick Caserio as their new General Manager. They’re currently going through the interviewing process of Head Coach candidates and there are plenty of big names available on the market, but apparently not the guy Watson wants:

"“Watson advocated for Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy—Pat Mahomes put in a strong word for EB with Watson—and the Texans didn’t even put in for an interview with Bieniemy. Easy to see where he’d feel like they were just placating him by telling him he’d be involved” (Albert Breer via Twitter)."

Watson is the main attraction for candidates interviewing for this job. If he wants out of Houston, why would anyone want to take this job? With that being said, let’s take a look at three teams who have the draft capital in the 2021 NFL Draft and beyond to trade for Deshaun Watson.
