1. Get lockdown cornerback of the future

The depth on the roster for the Eagles at the cornerback position is an issue to say the least.

Outside of Darius Slay, who is aging in his own regard, the Eagles do not have a single cornerback who is worthy to start outside the numbers next season. Jalen Mills and Avonte Maddox have had their fair share of opportunities to prove their worth, and have proven unworthy of holding down the spot. This is perhaps the most logical move for the Eagles to make in the 2021 NFL Draft.

With the sixth pick, the Eagles will more than likely have their pick of the litter on the defensive side of the ball. There are two cornerbacks who are talked about at the top of the boards, and those are Alabama’s Patrick Surtain II and Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley. A wild card here with an excellent pre-draft process could also be South Carolina’s Jaycee Horn.

Pairing the likes of Surtain, Farley, or Horn with Slay would give the Eagles a fantastic duo to work with in 2021, and a potential contingency plan beyond Slay as well. This, however, is not their only option as they sit just outside the top-five of the draft.
