Daily Draft Digest is back just in time for the Reese’s Senior Bowl to take place in Mobile, Alabama! The Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are off to the Super Bowl, while the Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills have solidified their draft slots. In this edition, we get some Senior Bowl news, some significant injury news, and the Bears are ready to make a name for themselves.

Kyle Trask out of Senior Bowl

Suffering an ankle injury, Florida quarterback Kyle Trask is set to miss the Senior Bowl, an event he desperately needed to compete in. Right now, there are four big names at the top of the quarterback board, and a solid week in Mobile would have given Trask the ability to prove he could be worth a first round pick.

Given his lack of arm talent, mobility, and physical tools, Trask enters the 2021 NFL Draft cycle as a low-ceiling option. Because of a world of production in 2020 with the Gators, Trask may hear his name called during the second day of the draft. As for his first round hopes, those look to be completely out of question now.

Vanderbilt EDGE Dayo Odeyingbo takes massive blow

One of the more versatile and fun players to watch from this draft cycle is Vanderbilt’s edge rusher Dayo Odeyingbo. A 6-foot-6 and 275 pound man with 36 inch arms, Odeyingbo figured to be a day-two sleeper, and fringe top-10 player at his position, with the versatility to align all over a defensive front at the next level.

Now, Odeyingbo has a decision to make after rupturing his achilles during his training for the draft. Given his extra year of eligibility, Odeyingbo has until March 1 to decide whether or not he will continue towards the 2021 NFL Draft or if he will return to school and look to recover before entering a year later.

Bears to be big players in QB market?

There is no way to look at the 2017 NFL Draft without the blunders of the Chicago Bears being completely evident. Trading up to the second overall pick, the Bears opted to select Mitch Trubisky over the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. Nearly four years later, the Bears once again figure to be active in the search for a new gunslinger after the failures of Trubisky.

Currently picking 20th overall, Jay Glazer has reported that Chicago will be aggressive in their pursuit of a new quarterback. Does this mean they will look towards the likes of Watson or Matthew Stafford after he and the Lions look to part ways? Or does this mean that the Bears will once again look to move up for the likes of Trey Lance, Justin Fields, or Zach Wilson?
