We have a juicy one in today’s Daily Draft Digest as we have the latest on Carson Wentz and what his future with the Philadelphia Eagles holds. Additionally, a former first round pick in the 2018 NFL gets another chance, and the NFL Rookie of the Year awards have finally been handed out.

Carson Wentz to the Bears?

It was reported that Wentz would be traded within the week, and then steam really began to pick up for the Eagles. Now, it looks like the Eagles and the Chicago Bears are on their way to making a deal for the former number two overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

According to Natalie Egenolf of 97.5 The Fanatic and NBC Philadelphia, Wentz may be on his way to the Windy City, and the Eagles may get quite the haul in return. The Eagles are expected to get a first round pick, Nick Foles back, and an offensive player. The offensive player is rumored to be Tarik Cohen, but the running back himself has disputed these reports.

This would give Wentz a fresh start in a city he would not have to compete for a job, while the Eagles get quite a bit in exchange as well. The question remains: do the Eagles ride out Jalen Hurts in 2021, or do they look to take a quarterback with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft?

Josh Rosen gets another chance

Now on his fourth team, former top-ten pick in 2018 Josh Rosen looks to stay on the same team for more than a year. After landing on the practice squad of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this season, then claimed by the San Francisco 49ers, Rosen is expected back in the Bay Area as he is an exclusive rights free agent this offseason.

As the Niners look to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo, Rosen may just get his shot to compete this offseason should San Francisco not find a way to land a new gunslinger. Look for John Lynch to be aggressive for a new quarterback, but for now they have a backup plan set with Rosen.

Herbert, Young win Rookie of the Year awards

The NFL held their awards show last night, with Aaron Rodgers taking home the MVP, Kevin Stefanski winning coach of the year, and a couple of rookies bringing home the hardware as well. Los Angeles Chargers’ quarterback Justin Herbert edged out wide receiver Justin Jefferson for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, while Washington’s Chase Young takes home the defensive award.

Herbert, the sixth overall pick a year ago, finished his rookie season with over 4,300 yards passing, 31 touchdowns, and ten interceptions. He shattered rookie passing records set by the likes of Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, and Baker Mayfield on his way to the award. Young finished his rookie season with seven and a half sacks, 10 tackles for loss, and 12 hits on the quarterback.
