4. Juju Smith-Schuster, WR
An easy way to keep continuity in your locker room is to keep key contributors around. One of those key contributors is former second round pick and wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster. As he hits the market this offseason, the wide receiver looks to push $15 million on the open market (or even a bit more per year), leaving the Steelers in need of making a big decision about the future of Smith-Schuster.
The Steelers could look to run their offense with Chase Claypool, Diontae Johnson, and James Washington leading the way and let Smith-Schuster walk in free agency. They could then draft another wide receiver on the second day of the 2021 NFL Draft, minimizing the the salary hit at the position, and nobody would blame them. However, the production that Smith-Schuster has proven to provide for the offense in Pittsburgh might be too much to overlook for the front office.
In four years with the team, Smith-Schuster has racked up over 3,700 yards receiving and 26 touchdowns on 308 catches. He is directly coming off of a season with 97 catches for 831 yards and nine touchdowns in Pittsburgh. Will the Steelers let him walk or will they shell out some coin to keep him?
