Round 4, Pick 125 (after trade): Sage Surratt, WR, Wake Forest

As we just saw with Tom Brady and company in Tampa Bay; a quarterback can never have too many weapons for his disposal. Russell Wilson loves DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett but outside of those two guys the wide receiver play is average at best. Tight end is also nothing of note especially after Greg Olsen announced his retirement.

Getting Russell Wilson another pass catcher not only keeps him happy but it genuinely fills a hole at WR3. That problem gets solved with the 125th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft when the Seahawks select wide receiver Sage Surratt out of Wake Forest.

Sage is not to be confused with his older brother Chazz who happens to be one of the top linebacker prospects in the draft but Sage Surratt is still a respectable prospect in his own right. Sage has only played two seasons of college football after opting to sit out the 2020 season to prepare for the NFL Draft.

In just two seasons at Wake Forest Surratt caught 107 balls for 1,582 yards, and 15 touchdowns. Surratt has great size for his position checking in at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds and he knows how to use his size to his advantage. While Surratt wins contested catches and most 50/50 situations he does lack the athleticism and speed you like in a receiver.

Next. Mock Draft: Zach Wilson is QB2, Saints trade up for QB of future. dark

Surratt typically lines up on the outside at the X position but has the versatility to play out of the slot if need be. Having DK Metcalf, Lockett and Surratt on the field at the same time will cause nightmares for defensive coordinators. Adding this 2019 ALL-ACC receiver to the Russell Wilson arsenal would be a good fit for both parties.
