Speaking of former Rams coaches, the defensive coordinator who helped them become one of the NFL’s elite on that side of the ball in 2020 is now the head man with the Chargers, and Brandon Staley may be keen to add to a secondary not without talent to facilitate his new defense enjoying a similar rise.

Though they have veteran Casey Hayward taking up a starting corner role in the defensive backfield, there is a lack of enticing options to play across from him and Stokes would give the Chargers somebody Staley could mold in the hope of him having make a shutdown impact akin to that of Jalen Ramsey with the Rams.

Ramsey and Stokes have different games and the latter would do extremely well to come close to what the four-time Pro Bowler has achieved during his career. However, like Ramsey, Stokes is an instinctual corner who can win consistently at the catch point.

Though Renaldo Hill is the defensive coordinator for the Chargers, the defense will undoubtedly be heavily influenced by Staley, who has done an excellent job of putting his players in a position to succeed.

His system is one that would suit Stokes perfectly and, while it is debatable whether the Chargers would be willing to take him as early as pick number 13, look for them as a possible destination should Stokes still be on the board after day 1.
