Looking at Gettleman’s offseason thus far

The Giants’ offseason up to this point has been headlined by the massive deal they gave to wide receiver, Kenny Golladay. They gave him a four-year, $72 million deal to come in and be the number one option for Danny dimes. Golladay is a contested-catch specialist with ball-hawking ability. Golladay can come in and make a major impact that desperately needed a WR1.

Closely following up the Golladay deal was the contract they gave defensive lineman Leonard Williams. Williams was a highly coveted interior defensive lineman and cashed in on a year with a weak class in the draft. He signed a whopping three-year, $63 million deal. After letting Dalvin Tomlinson walk, Dave Gettleman knew he had to lock up his other stud interior defensive lineman. This is a massive contract, but securing your talent in a down year is never a bad idea.

Looking at the rest of the class; Kyle Rudolph comes in like a seasoned veteran who can get some meaningful reps as Evan Engram has not been what the team has hoped he would be. In order to bolster the secondary, the Giants signed Adoree Jackson after he was cut by the Titans. Jackson can come in and play alongside James Bradberry as this secondary takes the next step in becoming among the best in the league.

The Giants had a good free agency, and hopefully, they can carry that momentum into the 2021 NFL Draft.
