Steelers Offseason Moves

The offseason has been a relatively quiet one for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers started off the offseason with the retirement from longtime center Maurkice Pouncey who’s been a Steeler since 2010. The Steelers re-signed some familiar names in Marcus Allen, Ray-Ray McCloud, JC Hassenauer, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Cam Sutton, Robert Spillane, Zach Banner, Cassius Marsh, and Jordan Perry. Most of these signings were more so filling out depth with a few starters sprinkled in.

The Steelers brought in a handful of outside names to help bolster the roster by signing guys like Tyson Alualu, Tyler Simmons, Jamir Jones, Rashaad Coward, Jarvis Miller, Matthew Sexton and Kalen Ballage. Not exactly a star-studded list of names but once again, filling out the overall depth of the roster.

While the offseason has been largely filled with moves that aren’t major, the team did make sure to bring back JuJu Smith Schuster on a one-year deal. Not committing a ton of money to a receiver who has been steadily declining in overall production is wise especially with Big Ben likely on the verge of retirement come season’s end.

With limited cap space remaining to spend it’ll be interesting to see if the Steelers make any more moves although most of them if not all are likely to not be anything major.
