Team needs entering 2021 NFL Draft

Need One: Quarterback

There is not much explanation needed for this team need. If a team needs a quarterback and is picking at number one overall, there is rarely an excuse to not draft a quarterback. Everyone expects the Jaguars to draft a quarterback at one overall this year, and if they didn’t, it might be the most shocking move in NFL Draft history. Get your quarterback, Urban Meyer.

Need Two: Tight End

The Jaguars haven’t had a reliable tight end in what feels like forever. Getting a good, pass-catching tight end can help take this offense to the next level and give new offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell a reliable target outside of his wide receivers. Looking at what he did in Detroit, T.J. Hockenson was a pretty valuable player in that offense, and you’d think he would want someone like that in Jacksonville.

Need Three: Safety

New general manager Trent Baalke has addressed the cornerback position this offseason, but getting someone to patrol the deep portions of the field on defense is quite important as well. Getting a ball-hawking safety can make things easier on your two cornerbacks. Pass coverage is so important in the NFL. Covering the receivers gives the defensive line more time to get to the quarterback, and safeties play a big part in pass coverage.
