Round 7, Pick 250: Noah Gray, TE, Duke

The Seahawks did sign division rival Gerald Everett but only to a one-year deal. For some reason, the Seahawks always seem to invest in the position, but they never succeed. However, if you take enough shots, maybe you will hit. Obviously, in round seven, the decision-makers are eyeing the traits and special team ability which Gray will provide.

Gray also provides a different look than Everett as more of an H-back. He can lineup in the backfield, catch footballs out in the flat and pave the way for running backs. As an athlete, Gray’s 4.62 40-yard dash time ranked 84th among tight ends. His 6.9-second three-cone drill ranked in the 90th percentile, per MockDraftable.

Overall, Gray has the athletic traits you want from your day three draft picks. We know he can run, block, pass protect, and receive out in the flat with athletic traits that lead you to believe he could operate at all three levels of the field. The athletic traits will flash on the special teams unit as he should play on all facets of the group. Keep an eye on the Duke graduate to come off the board in the later parts of the third day of the NFL Draft. Due to the lack of picks, drafting players like Gray will raise the Seahawks in rate in 2021.
